The Perfect Form

We went to Chuck E. Cheese's yesterday and I got to shoot some hoops. Check out the form. I learned that from my mommy. Daddy says it's from him but ask him who won the last game of HORSE between him and mommy! hehehe. As easy as putting your hand in the cookie jar.

Bye bye leaves

Hey everybody,

So all the leaves decided to disappear of the trees and magically reappear on the ground. That's pretty neat. The only thing is that once all the leaves reappeared on the ground, they decided to stay there and not magically reappear in the trash bag. Daddy said that the leaves need to work on their magic tricks. Since they haven't quite mastered that art yet, it meant that Jay and I had the task of raking up all the leaves and putting them in the trash bags ourselves. These parents are starting me off early. Isn't child labor a crime. Mommy said hard work builds character. But I say all work and no play makes for a boring life, so of course we had to have to some fun along the way. Enjoy the pics.

17 Months Old

Hey guys,

I just turned 17 months old last week. My - time is flying. A lot has happened since we last spoke two months ago. The most obvious is that I've gotten older of course. A few weeks ago we had a group of about 10 college students from Nassau over to the house and we threw down Bahamian style. Like daddy says, it was time to mash. We played dominoes and monopoly and ate peas n' rice, fried chicken, baked chicken, ribs, colesaw, macaroni, potatoe salad, beets, brownies, coconut creame pie, and a number one Bahamian speciality - Cool Aid. It was great. I never had so much fun in my life. We were dancing to junkanoo and listening to reggae. That's some pretty cool music if I do say so myself. I love my island roots.

I also learned how to do situps by helping daddy work on his abs. My dad is such a stud. Well at least he thinks he is, but both he and I know who the real boss in the house is. That's right it's starts with an M and end with a Y, MY MOMMY. I love that lady sooooo much. I don't know what I'd do without her. Daddy is cool and all, but mommy is just mommy. She dressed me up for Halloween and we went trick or treating last night. I got lots of candy. But I couldn't eat all of it. Guess what I was for Halloween. A COW!!! Last year a duck, this year a cow. What's next? I guess next year, I'll at least get promoted to Old McDonald.

Anyway, mommy and daddy have been working hard over the past few months, and we've all been fighting sinus infections. So we've all been really tired. I also got my first flu shot. I hope it works because I've heard horror stories about the flu.

Anyway, daddy said Mar (my greatgrandmother) was in the hospital last week so wants everyone to pray for her so that she'll get better so I can go to the Bahamas and see her again. I like Mar. Daddy says i look like her. I think he may be right.

Well tata for now and enjoy the pics. I love BROWNIES.

15 months old

Hey everyone,
Sorry I've been away so long. Between starting a new daycare, mommy getting a new job, and daddy's fall sports getting underway, things have been crazy. But I'm finally back and ready to update you guys on how things have been.

Starting my new daycare was so traumatic. I didn't like it one bit. I went from hanging out with mommy and daddy all summer to having to meet all these strange people that I never saw before. It took me a little bit of getting used to, but it's much better now. I love my daycare. I have lots of new friends and my teachers are nice.

I've also learned how to drive. Daddy took me out on the riding mower. He was nervous because he didn't want anything to happen to me so he put it in the slowest speed. I looked down and saw a snail and it was going faster than we were. How boring was that. At this rate, we won't get to speed five until I'm 30. He kept mentioning something about Uncle Dorrie letting him drive grandaddy's car when he was in the third grade. He said it wasn't a great experience.

Anyway, life is pretty good. I'm learning lots of new words and I'm now getting haircuts. I like them. Especially when daddy runs the small lawn mower thingee over my head. It's just like cutting the grass except it doesn't have wheels.

I'll try to keep everyone updated on how life progresses. TA-TA for now. Peace.

Going Back to the Islands

Hey crew,

We're back. The Bahamas was great. I'm officially an island boy now. I had so much fun and got to meet so many new family members. I really don't have any family close to Arkansas except for Bun Bun and Grandpa Mac who live an hour away in Oklahoma; so it was cool getting to meet all my cousins, uncles, aunts, and my great grandmother, Mar. Everyone says I look like her. We are the same complexion.

I also got to go to Andros (that's were my grandaddy was born) and swim in the ocean. It was really salty, but I loved it. Mommy and daddy walked down to the beach one day and decided to let me take a swim even though I didn't have any swim trunks. So they stripped me down to my birthday suit and let me have at it. It was great. Now I see why daddy refuses to go swimming in a lake. The water was crystal clear.

I also got to see where my great grandparents on my grandaddy's side are buried.

When we got back from Andros I got christened at my grandaddy's church. It was really neat when he annointed my head with oil. I also got to hang out with several of my Godparents. After church we all went out to celebrate my christening and then mommy and daddy went to stay at the hotel Atlantis for two days while I stayed with my Grammie Jessie and Auntie Lauriette and cousins Aalaiyah and Anaiyah. But they didn't leave me completely out of the fun. I got to go spend a day at the hotel with them. Atlantis was really cool. They had a special kiddie pool made just for me. I could walk around and even got to go down a few slides.

Anyway, long story short, we had a great time. I can't wait to go back and eat some more conch salad. That stuff is really good man.

Also, I heard that we'll be a taking another trip shortly to go visit Uncle Dorrie and his crew in Cincinnati and my Grandma Mary Anne up in Michigan. More family - I love it! I'll add some pics when we return.

BTW - if you want to check out my pics from the Bahamas they are down below. Enjoy!

Family Photos June 09

Hey guys,
Check out our family photos down below. The photographer's name is Joshua Adams and he's a photography and graphic design student at daddy's work. He needed to practice so daddy graciously volunteered our family. It was a win win situation. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday to Me

Hey guys,

I'm officially a one year old. I had a great party yesterday and got so many great gifts. Ms. Blaire even showed up and took some great photos. You can see those at the bottom of the page. She's a great photographer. If anyone wants great shots taken she's the one you should hire. You can check out her website at http://www.bperryphotography.com/ and I also have her blog listed under my blog list down below.

Thanks everyone for showing up and helping me and mommy and daddy celebrate. We all had such a great time. I can't wait to see what the second year of my life has in store for me. I'm pretty sure it will be even more exciting than the first. Stay tuned because the fun is just getting started.

Seven Days and Counting

Hey everyone,

The countdown is on. Seven days and I'll officially be a man. My 1st birthday is next week Wednesday, but I won't have a party until the 30th. Getting older is really cool. I get to do so many more things. I went swimming with daddy last week. I had a blast. Daddy didn't have much fun though. The water was pretty cold and he had to hold me the entire time which meant his lower body was in the water while his upper body was above water. You should have seen him. His lips were shaking. Mommy was smart. She didn't get in. She made daddy do it. Anyway, at least I had fun! I can't wait until I can swim on my own. Maybe when I get to Nassau I'll be able to do it on my own in the ocean. Daddy says that everyone is going to love me. We are going there in June. I'll get to meet my great grandmother for the first time. Daddy spoke to her on Mother's Day and she said that she can't wait. Maybe she'll take her teeth out and let me play with them. I wish I had fake teeth. These little suckers hurt when they come in. I have a couple more getting ready to push there way out in the back and I'm not pleased about it one bit. It's definitely hindering my eating process. Anyway, I'll hit you guys back next week after the party and let you know how it went.

Reading the Sunday Paper

Hey guys,

I was at Bun Bun and Grandpa Mac's house for Easter, and Grandpa Mac taught me how to read the newspaper. He's not computer savvy so he doesn't know about this new invention called the internet and says that anything he needs to find out about the world he can find out from his daily newspaper. Well I decided to see if that was true. As you can see, I really didn't learn much, but boy did I have one heck of a time. That's the most fun I've had in 11 months. Anyway, word of advice to any of you paper delivery guys out there. If it is raining and you have to deliver a paper, just make sure you get the paper on the driveway and not in the gutter. If people care about their papers as much as Grandpa Mac does then they won't be very happy with you. Let's just say it was pretty funny to see how grumpy he was on Easter morning with a wet newspaper. Hehehe.

Babyproofed

Hey everyone,

Sorry, I've been away so long but I've been a really mischievous young man lately. I'm into everything man. I've got to admit it, there's just too much out there that I don't know about and I want to figure things out. Like whats in that cabinet below mommy's sink? Or what's in the cabinet in the kitchen? Mommy and daddy always get to go in there so I figured I get to go in there too. Anyway, daddy didn't like that idea too much so he babyproofed everything.

Now I can't get into anything. So I decided that if they wanted to hold a young baby down then I'd begin throwing baby fits. Once again daddy and mommy didn't like that idea too much, so I've been introduced to three things.

The first is called the spank. This is when mommy or daddy tells me not to do something, but I proceed to do it anyway. After I proceed to do it, it is then followed by daddy's hand tapping my hand or in some instances my bottom while saying NO. This is then proceeded by me inhaling all the air I can and then holding it in for about a minute and then I let it all out with the loudest scream ever created by a human being. That'll show them to spank me again.

The second is called "timeout". Once again this is when I want to do something that mommy says isn't nice such as hitting, slapping, and throwing food, and when she says no and I still proceed to do it even after the spank doesn't work, then we proceed to timeout. This is where I get put in my crib or sat against the wall for about a minute until I decide to stop throwing a fit. Timeout isn't too bad. Usually mommy doesn't make me wait the full minute. I usually get to leave after about 15 seconds and then I'm back off to playin with my toys.
The third is Officer Kevin. He's a police officer that's a friend of mommy and daddy's. As you can see he likes me too much to administer any type of punishment so I'm not too worried about their third option. Can you say wrapped around my finger. hehe!

So that's what I've been up to for the last two months. Oh, I'm also really fast at crawling and when I pull up on things I can let go and can stand up all by myself. Pretty soon I'll be running all over the place. I can't wait! Oh, I also now have 8 teeth. Man am I getting old!

Ewwwww Snow!

Hey everyone,

Last week was great. I got to spend four days at home with mommy because we had an ice storm. It was so cool to see all the snow and ice everywhere. I even got to go outside and play in it. It was sooo cold. I tried to put some in my mouth but that eagle eye of a mommy that I have doesn't miss a lick.

I also started pulling up this week. I've gatta say being mobile is great. Mommy and daddy can't keep up with me. I'm into everything. Jay and Smoke don't like it very much though because I chase them all over the house. I just want to play. Anyway, maybe the next time we talk we may have another snow storm and then daddy will take me outside. I'm almost positive I'll have a mouthful of snow then.

Hasta luego compadres! (Daddy's been watching Univision. His goal is to learn Spanish before he turns 40!)

Too Cool for Words!

And that's all I have to say about that one!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone. Man the last two weeks have been crazy. I celebrated my first Christmas. It was so much fun. Daddy said that I didn't even care about the actual gifts only the paper. I love wrapping paper. It taste soo good. We spent Christmas at Bun Bun's house and then we came home. And then we went to Norman, Okla. to spend New Years with GG, Morgan, and Nichy. We had lots of fun. GG is pretty fast though. I can't keep up with her. I even got to bring in the New Year with everyone. That's only because daddy decided to wake me up a minute before the countdown because he didn't want me to see the pictures when I got older and regret it. After we got back from Norman we drove to Fort Smith to see my cousin KJ play basketball for the first time since he's gone to college. KJ lived with mommy and daddy for three years while he was in high school in Fayetteville. When I saw him I started smiling right off the bat because I recognized his voice from when I was still in mommy's belly. He's a pretty good basketball player. He even had a dunk. Daddy said he taught him that. Yeeeah Right! Anyway, I can't wait till next year Christmas when I get some more of that wrapping paper. Like I said, that's some good stuff. Later.
